Updates

I have a few updates. First, I probably won't be doing the Secret Box booklet with HOTDcups just yet. This means the version I post most likely won't be translated. If I do get some of it translated, it will probably only be a few pages. It turns out it really wasn't anything that special though, so don't expect it to be great. Nothing in the booklet was actually drawn by Shouji Sato.

If you haven't already heard, there won't be a new HOTD chapter in the February issue of Dragon Age. Instead, they'll be including a full color version of the "Cos-play of the DEAD" extra episode chapter as a preview of the Full Color Edition. You can see more information on this at Torpedo Tits.

The work on Volume 6 is going smoothly. I don't have a date yet for when it will be finished, but I'll post when I know. You should check the link above as the information will probably be posted there first. As for other projects HOTDcups is working on, I'm currently only helping with Volume 6, but his plan is to do all of the previously released Volumes as well as Volume 7 when it is released and the Full Color Editions. I'm not sure what exactly I'll be helping with after Volume 6, but I'll post here when I know.

Well, that's all the news I have for now. I'll try to have the Secret Box anthology booklet posted by the end of the first week of January.

Volume 6

I was going to spend a little more time on this than I did, but I decided to post it as it is since I've started working on the next version. The only major issue is that I didn't finish a few of the two-page spreads. I didn't want to debind my book, so I wasn't able to get good enough scans to complete them. Also, there are no translations on the color pages or the concept sketches/character profiles. Both of these issues will be corrected in the next version, which should also be of higher quality. When I know when it will be finished, I'll let you know. For now, here's my temporary version:

Feel free to post the download link on another site if you want, but I'd prefer that you don't post it on an online reader manga site. I think many of the major ones have dropped HOTD anyway, so I guess it shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, please enjoy, and I'll post again when I have more news on upcoming projects.

Art Book Part 2

Okay I've finished cleaning and joining the second part of the art book. This one is illustrations in the style of the anime. Just as before, I rushed through these a bit, and they aren't perfect. Also as before, credit for the raw scans goes to HOTDcups. If anyone has any requests of a particular image they want redone, let me know and I'll try to get to it. Otherwise, enjoy.

I mentioned that I would be doing Volume 6 before. I'll probably be posting a temporary version, if any, before Christmas. This will not have translations done for the special pages, and it won't be of the greatest quality. I'm working with HOTDcups on a much higher quality version with full translations, so look for that soon.

Intro and HOTD Art Book

Hello everyone. Welcome to my Highschool of the Dead blogsite. Due to a lack of action from major scanlation groups, I've decided to start scanlating Highschool of the Dead. I will only be doing the volumes when they are released and maybe some other stuff such as the art books. I won't be doing new chapters, but HOTDcups over at Torpedo Tits will be, and I encourage everyone to go there and support him with donations if you can.

For my first post, I would like to present the first half of the HOTD art book. All credit for the raw scans goes to HOTDcups, so make sure you thank him on his blog. I've cleaned and edited all pages and joined all two-page spreads. I was a little rushed getting it done so it may be a little sloppy in some areas. I've also downsized all of the pages so it's a considerably smaller file. Look for the second part in the next day or two. Here's the download link:

So I hope everyone enjoys it, and I'm open to criticism as it helps me improve future scans. My next project will be a full scanlation of Volume 6. I'll have it done and posted by Christmas, but the special pages(color pages, character profiles, etc.) probably won't be done until the new year, so I'll release a second version then. If there's anyone out there who can translate Japanese or who wants to join with me on future projects, let me know.

One more thing: I'm the administrator at the HOTD Wiki, and we are always looking for new contributors. Please come by and help out if you can. I would greatly appreciate it.
